Director of Operations
St. Mark Lutheran Church and School invites applications for this full-time position which will become available not later than July 1. The Director of Operations is primarily responsible for finance, facilities, human resources, and technology for both the church and the school functions. The Director of Operations reports to the Senior Pastor and has supervisory responsibility for approximately six employees.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate examples of proactive leadership and team building; patterns of success in leadership
Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing and to effectively present information orally and respond to questions when necessary
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with database software
Strong knowledge of mathematical and accounting concepts
Understanding of web design and applications helpful
Ability to maintain a positive working relationship with the Board of Directors, Board of Elders, staff and lay ministry leaders to ensure that initiatives advancing the ministries’ strategic plan are implemented
Must be a member of St. Mark or willing to become a member.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelors’ degree in financial accounting or a related field required, Masters’ degree desired. CPA Preferred.
Five years’ applicable experience, including fund accounting in a not-for-profit setting preferred
